OUR LOCATION

On entering the Mansfield township (heading in the Mt Buller direction) the SCM shops are situated on your left hand side. 
 

PARKING

There is ample parking outside the shops, but if it happens to be full, centre road parking directly opposite the shops is always available


OPERATING HOURS

We operate from

7am till 6.30pm

everyday till the end of the snow season.

PICK-UP TIMES

Pick-up your gear from 7:00 am on day of hire. Equipment to be

returned by 6.30pm

on final day of hire. 

Early pick-up is possible between 2 pm and 5 pm the day before at no extra cost.

  • These discounts apply specifically to midweek visits, meaning they are valid on days between Monday and Friday.

  • It's important to note that group discounts need to be prebooked and prepaid in advance.

Booking Instructions:

 

To make a booking for hiring gear online, please follow these steps:

 

Visit our booking website at https://discount-ski-hire.booqable.shop.

 

Select the desired pick-up day and time.

You have the option to pick up your gear the day before the first day of your rental period at no additional cost. The pick-up window is between 2 pm and 5 pm. When making your booking, if you select a timeslot after 2 pm, our system will not charge you for that day.

 

Choose the return day and time.

 

You then have the flexibility to either click on the available equipment categories or simply scroll down to locate the specific gear you require. Each item includes a picture, a brief description, and the price. Click on the picture to add it to your cart.

 

To continue shopping, click on the "X" in the top right corner.

If you want to review your cart or make changes, select "Review Cart" or proceed to “Checkout”

 

At the checkout screen, enter your details such as name and driver's license number etc.

These details will be cross-referenced during pick-up and should belong to the person collecting the gear.

 

By clicking on the "I accept the terms and agreements" checkbox, the terms and conditions page will appear. Please read it carefully.

 

After closing the terms and agreements screen, tick the box to accept and continue to the payment section.

 

On the payment screen, you can choose between different payment methods such as PayPal or select a card. Make your selection and proceed with the payment.

 

Once the payment is accepted, your booking is confirmed. You will receive a booking confirmation/invoice via email, using the email address provided during the previous steps.

 Changes and Cancellations

Changes and cancellations after this process are only accepted when you respond to the booking confirmation. This is to verify your identity. We cannot take cancellations or changes to the bookings over the phone or by general email.

You have the flexibility to cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before the scheduled collection time. In such cases, we will process a refund for you, deducting a 5% booking fee. Simply reply to this email during our business hours with your cancellation instructions.

For cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled collection time, we will provide a refund after deducting the charge for the first day.
Please note that this policy applies only to bookings longer than one day.

Should you need to make changes to the reservation date, you can do so free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled collection time, subject to availability. Please note that we cannot guarantee availability for alternative dates.

 

How to book early pickup on line :

Let’s say you want to ski as early as possible on Friday morning.

Simply make a booking online for pickup anytime after 2pm on Thursday.

Early Pick up

This will automatically calculate a 1 day charge.

If you pick up after 2 pm, there will be no charge for that day, but please note that the minimum hire duration is one day regardless of whether you return the equipment on the same day or the next

  • No, but we do recommend pre-booking, because of possible staff shortages. It could safe time. Pre booked customers will be served first. But don’t worry, we have plenty of clothing, skis and snowboards.

Soft roof racks are available free with hire. Boots and clothing are packed into large carry bags. Day trippers are allowed ski equipment and a day pack on the free shuttle bus service from the car park to village. If staying overnight, the taxi service will carry you and your bags directly to your accommodation.

  • Just compare and you’ll find our prices are up to 40% cheaper than our local competitors.

  • Tobogganing on Mt. Buller is now only possible with equipment provided at the “Toboggan Runs”. Pre-booking online recommended.

    We still can provide Toboggans to be used outside the Mt. Buller resort like Mt. Stirling.

  • We sure do. SCM Discount carries an extensive range covering all budgets. Beanies, goggles, gloves neckwarmers, socks, stomp pads, deck screws etc. We even sell thermal underwear! With our discount pricing, you won’t buy better. 

  • We take great care in maintaining our equipment to ensure it remains in good working condition. In the event that any damage occurs due to negligence or misuse, we kindly request that the replacement value of the equipment be paid for. This will help us to continue providing quality service to all our customers at our low prices. Our hire rates cover normal wear and tear on Items. Major damage from negligence, loss or breakage of equipment is to be paid for by the hirer.

  • Please check your car owners manual regarding the suitability of fitting chains to your vehicle tyres before leaving home. Discount Ski Hire maintains the right to deny supply of any vehicle chains it deems unsafe or unsuitable.

  • In our commitment to prioritize customer safety and maintain optimal stock availability, we have made important changes regarding the pre-booking of snow chains. We regret to inform you that pre-booking is no longer possible. Instead, we will ensure the provision of snow chains only after confirming their safe usage on vehicles. This process entails physically fitting the chains to the vehicle and consulting the owner's handbook for recommended tire and chain combinations specified by the vehicle manufacturers. Please be aware that due to the increasing number of car models in Australia, there are vehicles that cannot be safely equipped with snow chains. Therefore, it is advised that these vehicles should not be driven on alpine roads during the winter season. Our foremost concern is the safety of our customers, and we appreciate your understanding in this matter.

  • While our primary assistance for fitting chains is typically provided at our store location, generally road conditions may require chains to be fitted closer to the resort area. In such cases, we can provide you with guidance and instructions on how to properly fit the chains to your vehicles. A chain fitting service is provided by a commercial operator for a fee (cash only).

  • All vehicles visiting Mt Buller or Mt Stirling in the declared snow season must carry diamond pattern wheel chains - irrespective of weather conditions.

    They must be carried from Mirimbah entry onwards and fitted when instructed to do so. A chain fitting service is provided by a commercial operator for a fee (cash only).
